In Namayingo District, persons with disabilities face numerous challenges that hinder their participation in education, employment, and social life. Many are marginalized, living without access to essential services, proper care, or opportunities to thrive. Our mission is to change this narrative by empowering disabled persons, promoting their rights, and ensuring they have the support needed to lead independent, dignified lives.

Challenges Faced by Disabled Persons in Namayingo District

In rural Uganda, persons with disabilities are often among the most vulnerable members of society. Stigmatization, lack of awareness, and limited access to healthcare or education exacerbate their challenges. Many disabled individuals in Namayingo are unable to attend school or find meaningful employment, while others lack mobility aids or proper medical care. In some cases, disabled persons are hidden away by families or neglected due to widespread societal misconceptions about disability.
