Disabled Persons Campaign
Acquiring Wheelchairs for Disabled Persons

We are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with disabilities in Namayingo District, Eastern Uganda. Many disabled persons in our community face challenges with mobility, which severely limits their ability to participate fully in daily life. Our “Wheelchair for Disabled Persons” Campaign aims to provide mobility solutions for disabled individuals, empowering them to live with dignity and independence.
The “Wheelchair for Disabled Persons” Campaign seeks to give disabled individuals the gift of mobility through the provision of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. Mobility is not just about moving from one place to another; it’s about access to education, healthcare, social inclusion, and economic opportunities. By providing wheelchairs, we are transforming lives and enabling disabled persons to participate actively in society.

Campaign Objectives
- Providing Free Wheelchairs:
Through partnerships and community support, we distribute wheelchairs to disabled individuals who cannot afford them. These wheelchairs enable recipients to move independently and regain their freedom. For many, this is a life-changing gift that opens up opportunities for education, employment, and social engagement.
- Raising Awareness:
Our campaign also focuses on raising awareness about the challenges faced by people living with disabilities in Namayingo District. We engage with local communities to promote understanding, inclusivity, and respect for the rights and dignity of disabled persons. Through education, we aim to reduce stigma and discrimination, ensuring that people with disabilities are treated with respect.
- Training and Support:
We provide training to wheelchair recipients and their families on how to use and maintain their wheelchairs. This ensures that the wheelchairs are properly utilized and cared for, providing long-lasting support to individuals in need. We also offer ongoing support and resources to address any challenges they may face.
- Advocacy for Disability Rights:
We work closely with local authorities to advocate for better accessibility and rights for disabled persons. Our goal is to ensure that all public spaces, schools, and healthcare facilities in Namayingo District are accessible to people with disabilities. Through this advocacy, we aim to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

Why it Matters
For many disabled persons, a wheelchair is the key to unlocking a world of opportunities. Without mobility, they are often isolated, dependent on others, and unable to participate in education, work, or community life. By providing wheelchairs, we are giving them the freedom to lead more fulfilling lives, access services, and contribute to their communities.
